Because I like to help people learn programming and stuff, I have setup a few yahoo groups where people can learn from me/eachother, share files/programs, post messages, etc. - Trust me, I am among the best, so I think it would be very beneficial.

I am very willing to teach people everything I know whenever I have free time (I like to work on a one-to-one basis). Check out my groups if you are at all interested or curious.

Below are the web addresses for my groups (CAREFUL, I had to put a space after each slash, so if you copy and paste, delete the spaces):

http:// groups.yahoo.com/ group/ TICALC101 - deals with ticalcs and stuff

http:// groups.yahoo.com/ group/ PROGRAMMING101 - deals with programming concepts, applications, and graphics in general

http:// groups.yahoo.com/ group/ CppJAVA101 - deals with C++ and Java

An app or asm program that calculates collisions (in physics) between 2 objects. So if you enter all know data (like, M1, U1, U2, direction, V1; ect...) any values that can be calculated from that data would be given to the user.

I have one of those (actually two) but they're are both in basic. One just does the math and the other one does the math and also had graphics, but is much slower. Email me if you want either of them at tenniskid493@sbcglobal.net

i have made a physics program which finds thing like, velocity, time, energy, force, distance etc. this works for ti83. i don't know if there has already been a program like this, and it probably isn't completely perfect, but it does the job. i would make it better except my calculators memory is nearly full.

I am gonna be in Physics Honors next year, starting August 2007, so if you could come up with some useful programs for that class, I would appreciate it.

Port of SciTools for the TI-89T
Alchemist Account Info

Hello, I just bought a TI-89T and am very happy with everything except the lack of good Science software for it. I find myself still tempted to carry around my 83+ just to do the unit conversions and sigfigs that I can do with SciTools.

How hard would it be to port SciTools for the 89T?

Is there anyone out there who can take this kind of job on?

Hello, I just bought a brand new TI-89T calculator, and it is PERFECT except for one thing.... I miss my Scitools app from my 83+. This is such a big problem for me that i'm actually considering carrying both of them around just so I can do sigfigs and unit conversions. There's not a whole lot of software like that (and of that quality) for the 89 yet. If I had SciTools on my 89T it would be PERFECT. So....

How hard would it be to port SciTools to the 89T?

Is there anyone out there who would do it, or teach me how to do it (if it can be done w/ little experience)?

this is in reply to questions you asked in both your posts on this topic...

I too wish there were some way of porting all of those very worthy Z80 based programs and apps to 68K, especially sci tools.

I have faced a problem with this however, as not only would the program need to be modified for screen size, it would also need to be modified to work on a different processor. (a very different one).

In short, there is very little you can do in the way of porting programs from 83 to 89 with a small skill set, but i strongly encourage you to download TIGCC and take a crack at programming a copy of sci-tools for the 89, because only good can come from it.

If you dont want to do any of that however, i suggest the science section of the ti-89 ASM part of the archives, they seem to have some nice chemistry/physics tools.

Oh, and dont be ashamed to carry around your ti-83, i know i experienced a period when i carried both around just for comfort...

I am creating a science program for physics and chemistry 534, in Canada, and I need to know how to , (this is for the ti83, 83+, 83+ silver) store a Real Variable as a String file.

try this (where x is the int to go into Str1):
:{0,1}->L1
:{0,X}->L2
:LinReg(ax+b) L1,L2,Y1
:Equ>String(Y1,Str1)
:sub(Str1, 1, inString(Str1, "X", 1)-1)->Str1

Use this sort of thing:

StrN+sub("0123456789" ,A+1,1)->StrN

Where N is between 0 and 9 and A is between 0 and 9.
E-Mail me if you need a full program, I'll send you one in .8xp format [for TI-83+]: fists_h@msn.com
