You can always store numbers in lists. You can name a list any name 5 or less letters. Also you can store up to 999 numbers on one list. Store and recall the number using the list name followed by parentheses.

i.e. :X->LISTA(3) This stores X as the third number of list LISTA.

To avoid having to use brackets when typing an input to a list, use a variable in between.

i.e. :Input "Slope=",A:A->LISTA(1)

Compiler Project

WHY DOESNT ANYBODY BOTHER TO TITLE THEIR POSTS? Why should I bother helping people or whatever if I have to read every single post to find out what you want?

...by the way, I am making a high-level OOP compiler for z80; it looks like C++ with TI-Basic commands/keywords/syntax, and has all the capabilities of assembly. It allows several prim datatypes, mutli-dimesnional arrays, sub-routines, OOP, etc.

Any suggestions? (I will finish the test program soon; this is no simple program; having to unravel expressions and handle mem/vars and stuff is a mess..but it will work)

This isnt really a suggestion. I really like your idea, and I think it will be a GREAT success. I know I'll want this program... Good luck to you!

Arrays in assembly

What do you people think is the best way of handling arrays in assembly? I am making an OOP compiler for z80...so far, I think that a linked-list setup is best.

If you want to check out / help with my compiler, click on the web page listed at the top of this window.

I think it would be neat is someone setup a help file that you could download from ticalc.org that explains ti-83plus ASM simply and throughly. I mean a file that any complete idiot (like me)....(well with asm anyway) that can figure it out. To get a Help file creator goto www.breittechnologies.com. I DON'T want to advertise I just want to make aviable a site that a super genius ASM Programmer could use to help many people that feel very left in the dark... Yes I have viewed the one the ticalc.org offers the log files but... I must be really dumb that i cannot figure it out.

Thanks but they don't have what I'm looking for.
I'm looking for that cable that comes with the
Calculator (83+) that connects two calculators.

Anyone know where I can get the plans for the Calc to Calc Link Cable?

Thanks,
Andycogen

OK, that's a lot easier. :-) Just buy 2 stereo connectors (1/16", I think), cut 3 wires to the length you want, use one wire to connect the tip of each connector, another one to connect the ring...you get the idea-then just twist the wires together, or even better, get a long piece of heatshrink, put it over the wires and parts of the connectors, and shrink it on with a soldering iron. If this is confusing, e-mail me and I'll try to explain better, maybe send a wiring diagram.

Its alot easier than that above...Cut your existing wire in half, then strip the insulation. Your now looking at a red wire, a white wire, and a bare(ground) wire. strip the white and red wire's insulation on both halfs. Now, take some extra wire and lengthen each wire.

go to ti's online store. for $7 you can get a 7 ft. long cable. compare to $5 for the original 6 in. cable and you've got a good bargain

Sort of another spin of of burntfuse's idea. Instead of using stereo cable, use an phone cable. Make sure the connector has at least 3 pins on it. The phone cable would probably be a little thinner than stereo cable. There are ways you could also change the length, but for time's (and space on the page) sake I will explain this only if you're interested.

Just Visit Radio Shack. You can buy a splicer that connects two smaller cords together for a price cheaper than getting one shipped to your house.

I just had this kick-ass idea. I have an old GameBoy printer. What if somehow, you could get the TI-89 to print text files out on the printer? You could do it with other calcs too, but I only say TI-89 because it has a built-in text editor. This would be such a cool project. Tell me what you think of it.

Try this; maybe can you hook up a like cable to a normal printer (i.e. the parallel link)? if so, then somebody should make a program that can send info to the printer like that and print out full-sized pages

Printer
ti_is_good_++  Account Info

You would need a driver, obviously, so if you can't find any documentation on the link protocol (so that you can translate between the TI protocol and the printer) you would need to find a way to power it and then use an ASM program to send things through the cable and see what happens. To prevent the semi-random signal from frying the printer or jamming it, you would probably need a cable pinout. It would be helpful if you could provide the codes off the chips inside, if possible.

Hmm...good idea. Maybe for V200, TI84+, and TI89Ti, you could use a Mini-B to A cable, and hook them up to Epson printers. I only say Epson because I own an Epson.
