Programmers Needed
intory1  Account Info

I am creating a game but the only problem is that it i stext based. then i thought what if i went to ticalc and put up an add for someone that is good at creating graphics. so here i am looking for some of you to be graphic designers for my game. this game will be huge it is an rpg. if any of you have played games like diablo or runescape for the computer this will be like that. if you want or need any info on this please email me at intory1@yahoo.com

also if you happen to look at my profile i have just posted i program that is very crappy and well it is because i have been puting all my time in to this program. and the only reason i made that is because my teacher accidentally reset his ram one day in class and so i decided to help him out. this new game will be huge (popular is what i mean)but it also may be huge that takes up alot of spaco on your calc but with a little help from some of my friends we will think of ways to get it smaller

Thank you

seeing as i've NEVER heard of someone doing this before, i'll assume the thought is original, and i don't give a crap if it isn't. people make pictures in ASCII all the time on computers... for example:

--,-'-@

a simple rose... but perhaps, just perhaps... you could make ASCII art on a calculator screen? this would be perfect for credits since it would be like a 'trademark' or sorts. i've never heard of someone doing this, but it seems like simple logic. sadly, my calculator was stolen so i can't use this idea until i get a new one. enjoy clicking buttons and making ASCII though.

move pictures

hey i am a basic programmer (Ti-83+ se)
I was just wondering if anyone knows how to move an entire picture around the screen really quickly in Basic.

You know... I have tried this before. It is impossible to quickly move a picture faster than using a bunch of For( loops with pxlTest( in them and slowly redrawing it. Also, without an assembly program utility, it is impossible in pure BASIC to recall pictures at a specific coordinate other than the default.

Of course, I've looked, but can't find a program that recalls a picture as described above... Except if you use like Omnicalc's sprite( function. You can find Omnicalc under TI-83+ Flash apps, or at detachedsolutions.com, and there are other programs that do the same sort of thing under 83+ ASM graphics.

okay simon, I'm not sure if you're doing this in basic or asm. I'm jus' gonna flat out tell ya, in basic you aren't gonna get anywhere, but where you are now. LOST!!! The only way to go is with ASM. And due to the fact the TI-82's are pretty much out of date, not many people will be able to play it. If you want to do this I suggest you either get a TI-83/84 (+) and learn ASM, or get a TI-89 (for it's Graphic capabilities). If you are going to attempt it in Basic on your 82 Then I would suggest using the Output( commands, actually i'm not even sure the 82 has an output commmand (^_^). good luck...

Sprite Libraries
dsouzaman Account Info

It would be awesome if there was a library set up at ticalc.org with sprites of varying size, e.g. 8x8,16x16, etc. That would help a lot of programmers who aren't the best "pixel artists" :0)

I HAVE A GREAT IDEA. Any ASM programmers who are up to a challenge should try to make a program that you would run to take whatever is on the screen, or from a picture stored in the memory, and the ASM program makes a basic program named "picture" or something, that has the code of all of the active points on the screen using the "Line(" or "PxlOn(" commands. That would be great. Because I'm a basic programmer and i dont like having pictures with my programs, and it takes too long to program everything in.

I am not sure if this is the right category to leave this program idea, but here it is: It would be awesome if somebody could make a program for 68k calculators that would allow users to enter equations as if they were at the home screen, but a pretty printed version of the equation would be stored in memory so that the user could later look at a list of pretty printed equations (say, maybe for a test). I am not sure exactly how this could be done, there are probably dozens of ways. Sorry about the length of this post...

Equation Editor/Viewer

A program which I think could do wonders for many users who use 68k calculators, would be a program which would let you enter/ edit equations as on the home screen, except that the program would store each equation to a list which could later be viewed as a list of symbolic equations (for, mayeb, a test). Surely someone out their has the skills to make this program.

Rigview program for the 89?
dabud15 Account Info

I have both an 83+ and an 89Titanium. I really like the program Rigview for the 83+, which allows me to put any photograph I want onto the calculator. I was wondering if there existed such a program for the TI-89, TI-92, or TI-89Titanium. If so, then what is the name of it and where can I get it?

Thanks in advance,
dabud15

A program idea that I came up with is a 3d program, simalir to Datacad, for the Ti-89 calculator. If anyone knows where I can find such a program, if it exists, please email me.

A way to save space would be thus:

For(A,0,94
For(B,0,62
Pxl-Change(B,A
End
End

...Just so you know, there are assembly utility programs that do the same thing almost in no time at all.
