RTS GAME (Text RTS)
|
B.A.A_Geeks

Hello All,
Im currently working on a rts game for the ti 83+ calculator and our having promblems. Let me fill you in first. The game is called Text RTS because its mostly text graphics. It takes place in medievil times there for you have castle, knights, peasents and so on. For those of you who dont know what rts games are, they are Real Time Stradegy Games-Civilazation-Empire are some examples. In the game you start of with a Keep(town hall)-farm-worker-(trees, mines, stone are your natural rescoures). What you do is build your town up and fight the pc. (duh-lol)
So now thats that-Heres my promblem, I want to make the game on the graph screen but i do not know how to make a matrix work with the graph screen. I use the matrix for hit detection and what building you select. Is there Maybe another way around this? Or maybe theres a program that lets you take a pic of the home screen and convert it to the graph screen? Basicly I need to know how to make maps in basic and store them...there for if you go off the screen you go to a different part of the map but if you want to go back it takes you back to where you were.
Need Help With This And Feel Free To make suggestions for this game or even better start you own.

WindJammers like game

Hi everybody!
WindJammers is a really fun and additive neogeo game. I would like to develop it for ti89/92. I have a basis of C programming but not of asm. I'm able to do sprites (i have good basis of designing) and some C code but sprites are new to me and a bit complicated (with the events handler, background scrolling, etc).
If anyone is interested in helping me or in developing this game alone thanks for contacting me: remi.k2620@gmail.com
(note that my native language is french and not english)

In ASM, does anyone have a quick way to display the register A in small font at a given point that doesn't use a ton of CP commands??
Also, is there a quick way to draw a line that doesn't use (_iline) or any other rom calls??

I really want to program a Millionaire game, but I am kind of new to BASIC. I was wondering if anyone had any help or would like to help me. I am a pretty good programmer, but don't know quite everything. You can e-mail me at ertrules@comcast.net.

I would appreciate it if someone would be able to present me with a program which solves any game of 24, in which the player is required to manipulate four numbers so that the end result is 24, using each number only once. See wikipedia/24game for more information.
Thank you

Someone make a 3D golf game for TI calcs please. That game should be easier than a fast paced game. A 3D golf game is needed on calcs.

Super Smash Bros. MINI

I can't post on the Upcoming 83+ GAMES page, so I'll put this here:
I'm making a BASIC version of Super Smash Bros. for the 83+. I've tried this before, as I posted on some other page, but it was really, REALLY crappy and memory was a big issue [this was before I had a computer with working internet after 'the 2005 incident', and before I had stuff like Omnicalc], at 18,000+ bytes total. This one is even better than the old one, and is about half of ye olde prog's size [at 9,000 some bytes]. I shall reply soon with screenshots. Yes, it's battle function is single-pixel-based, but I'm working on utilizing Omnicalc for sprites instead.

I have an idea!
Objective:Make a game similar to the classic game of Rogue. Since you probably won't be able to put an entire floor on the screen, make the screen scroll or divide the floor into parts. Make at least 10 floors and 10 monsters. Unlike Rogue, make the character NEVER get hungry (I don't like having to feed him every 1300 steps or so), but let food instead replenish HP.

Modifier Keys

A 2-key linkage, like 2nd + 8, is easy to do on the 89. Just use the built-in key codes. For the 83+, it's much harder. You have to reserve one variable, let's say Z, for if the user just pressed the 2nd key. Then, in the part of your getKey code that does stuff depending on what key you pressed, put it so that if you press 2nd, Z is set to one. Then, just say "if (key variable)=35 (or whatever) and Z=1 Then (do something), store 0 into Z, EndIf". Make sure that if you press any key after you just pressed 2nd, the response will, once it's done, set Z back to 0. You won't be able to get the screen-corner thing with the arrow to appear, though.
