Download this program. Given its vintage it serves as a remarkable testament to what the TI-89 was capable of, even at the beginning of assembly programming (this dates from 1998!) I remember "playing" it back in the day and being impressed at the graphics and how you could go through the game world, though I did not get to use it for long. I even thought this was how the actual Zelda for Game Boy started, and was surprised when I eventually got to play that game that it had a completely different start.
However, I can't call this a game, since there is no real game part. It's not that it is unfinished: it is barely begun, with only two enemies which don't behave correctly in any way, especially when you kill them they leave garbage pixels. There are also a number of bugs (you may end up getting stuck after taking the sword, you may end up escaping the level layout, etc.) that makes this program closer to a tech demo. Still, an early classic of the TI-89 that you should rediscover. |
