    System requirements & installation

To play this game you just need a ti89,ti92+ or v200
Kirby's tiland works with every known ROM! There's a kernel version and a nostub one. It's based on the most famous library for TI-68k ASM:Genlib.
To start the game you must have a minimum of 30K of RAM free.
    Installation:
You need to know which type of installation you want to have.
First, the common files get transferred to all the calculators (found in the folder "common file") that is:

  • kgfx.9xy
  • kirgfx.9xy
  • kmap.9xy
  • ktile.9xy
  • genlib.89z
You can put these files in any directory!

Then it's up to you to choose:
  • If you aren't angry with the kernels, You must install Preos and use the Kirby version which is in the folder corresponding with your type of calculater and says kernel.
Me personally, I prefer the kernel version... Because Preos "catches" the majority of crashes

  • If you are a Pronostubian (it's what people I know call them) You need to use the nostub version of Kirby! What is nostub? I'll sum it up:
A nostub program runs wothout the use of a kernel. That is to say that you don't have to install anything beforehand to play (aside from the common files) Personnally, I find that this mode doesn't hold anything of interest for this game but I am obliged to implement it so that this game can be played by everyone. The reasons for which I am against this are the following: It's true that the file has the appearance of being smaller, but it is decompressed in RAM... An important loss! But this game was specially made to use little RAM (Data read only). For the same reason the kmap is not compressed! I think that the majority of the crashes come from a lack of memory, and that you don't have all your RAM free....

How can I play the game?

To play Kirby's TI-land you need to launch the game with the command kirby()
    The starting menu:
One option is not yet valid in this menu:The load command.
In contrast the load lvl command works perfectly so if enough people want me to distribute new levels.... ;)
    < BR> The commands:
The cursors move Kirby. By pressing up he can inhale some air and so take flight or spit out the air. To fly hold the up arrow or the jump button.
To jump press the 2nd button on the TI-89,or F1 on the TI-92 and v200
To inhale a monster or to exhale a power press the shift button on the TI-89, F5 on the TI-92 or v200
The - and + buttons decrease and increase the contrast.
The alpha button delete the power you have gain.
The X button load a plugin.
The mode button turned the calc in pause
APPS to turn off the calc (practical for when teachers walk by)
