Calc X is a
program for your TI-83, TI-83+ or TI-83+ Silver Edition that adds 5 new
functions to your calculator. The functions are chosen and made by me. I can
guarantee that it works on your TI-83.
That’s very
simple: there are no setup-files included in the zip-file; just send calcx.83p to your TI-83 or calcxse.8xp
to your TI-83+. This program has not been tested on the TI-83+, but you can
send both files to your calculator and test which one works. The 83p-version
will work on the TI-83+ for sure. To start the program Calc X just run calcx or calcxse on
your calculator!
Calc X has
5 new functions: getKey>n, n>getKey(, randDec(,
StatStr and aver( (83p-version)
or average( (8xp-version). Just enter on a function
to insert that function into the base-screen. After completing the function,
the program will automatically stop.
Menu 83p-version Menu 8xp-version
This is an easy
function: just press a key and your calculator will display the number
corresponding with that key.
[ENTER] was pressed
Now you
type a key-number and the calculator will display the text that is on that key.
For example: if you choose the number 54 the
calculator will output “TAN”.
The ) after the number is not needed.
15 is the number corresponding
with the GRAPH-key (F5)
This is the
most difficult function, but easy anyway. randDec(
is on the screen when you choose this function. randDec(
selects a random number between left bound and right bound with # decimals.
This function didn’t already exist on the TI-83 but is made with a combination
of randInt(.
randDec(<left
bound>,<right bound>,<decimals>)
Selected is a random number
between 10 and 20 with 3 decimals
This is a
very useful tool. You type the number of the string (0-9)
and the program will display the length of this string, the size of this string
(the space that it takes in your calculator) and the first 3 characters.
“HELLO” is stored in Str1
StatStr1 displays the length, size
and 1st 3 characters.
This will
calculate the average of all the numbers you type in after the (. The numbers are seperated with ,. There is no maximum of numbers. If you type a lot
of numbers, it can take a while before your TI-83 has calculated the average.
You can
also put in L1, L2, L3, L4, L5 or L6 and calculate the average! Just type in aver(<list>) or average(<list>).
8xp-version 83p-version, you see you don’t
have to type a “)”
Calc X is
made by Hans Dombeek (the Netherlands) and nobody else ;-)
