I haven't noticed any change, though University internet may have something to do with that. :-)

Of course it's faster. But then with mine anything is faster. :)

P.S. I kow this is off topic, but I gotta do it. I need a little help. I have a friend, or soon to be friend, who wants to get a Casio something or other because he says it's more "user friendly". Anything I try and tell him won't even convince him he's wrong. Would you guys please leave suggestions for what I should do.

Just tell him that the interface is a cross between the TI-85 & PuzzPack. And it may have a few colors, but no assembly support. And it has 32 KB of RAM, and no archive. It is also quite easy to reset & reset's frequently. And the speed isn't the best. A TI-81 could beat it at calculating 1+1 (poor TI-81, nobody loves you). And Casio never does any upgrades to their models or software so STICK WITH TI-CALCS! w00t!
PS: Poor TI-80, nobody loves you.

Also, BASIC programming options are limited and they don't have a very wide support. The buttons don't have a "good response" either, IMHO (hehe).

I pick up the key layout on TI calculators much quicker than other brands. That includes HP as well as Casio. This is probably true for many other people besides just me.

Tell him to get TI and not succumb to the Dark Side!

Same here. Also, the "color" calculators have colors (duh!) but they don't have black...

EXACTLY!!! And there is no casiocalc.org or any community for them. TI owns 85% of the Calc market. But they are evil for making the link port 22 mm & not the standart 25mm (headphone jack size). So now for SOUND ROUTINES, WE NEED TO BUST ARE NERDY AR$E$, AND BUILD AN ADAPTER THAT PROBABLY WON'T WORK!!!

PS: Casio links are about 18 mm.

Yeah, I don't like the 22mm link ports either...
Also, the main site that supports casios is calc.org, which currently is having a few, umm, problems.
Another thing is that no one gets a casio, because they know the ti calcs are better. Also, when's the last time you heard of a casio calculator nerd?

lol, calc.org always as PHP problems. Well have they ever heard of HTML?
There is one kid at my stupid school who owns a Casio, one who has an HP, one who has a TI-85, and about one hundred who own a TI-83 Plus or SE but I'm the only one who ever takes mine to school. When I get a TI-92 Plus, everyone is gonna be like: "Laptops aren't allowed in school!" Oh well. w0t!

The 22mm linkports are a marketing scheme so that it is harder to make your own. A big TI-CEO is coming to my school & i'm going to ask him if TI will make headphones for the calcs with sound routines.

I got a new graphlink cable (USB, faster than TICalc's website :) and guess what was on the CD 'case'. A keyboard and support for TI-8x calcs. It should come out with some 'Notefolio' app to take notes with. Seems Cullen Logan's is soon obsolete, but perhaps cheaper.

I bought one from Radio Shack for about $5. I had problems with it at first (had to wiggle it around to hear anything). Then I saw it wasn't going in the hole all the way. I only needed to trim off part of the plastic from the adaptor where it was obstructing its full penetration (no jokes, please), and now it works perfectly.

If you have the same problem, see this beautiful ASCII art:
TI port

Yeah, I know. I saw it too after I posted it. Just keep in mind that it's just 2.5mm male and female (hmmm...) stereo plug and calculator port.

Almost right. I'm a little older, I definitely am a nerd, I don't really want a girlfriend, but I like girls a lot. I'm a lady's man!

BTW, I'm young for my age.
