I don't have a job, cos' education is free in Denmark. I actually get paid by the state to study, so I guess you could say that going to school is my job.

Hmm, I have a job and I effectively get paid to go to college too. To does make things quite nice, to get paid for something you would already do.

hehe....CLERKS!!!

I work for a local school system, repairing computers and installing new one. I meet more idiots on a day to day basis than most people do in a lifetime.

"I can't find my geometry program, i think you didn't install it. Why do they pay you to do nothing?"

"What you can't find is the start menu. You're app is right there. Now tell me, How did you become a teacher?"

Yeah Clerks.

It isn't that great a job and I did do your line of work this past year at my school, and yes I believe you in the stupidity dept, I have seen it all. I was sent to the english building one day to diagnose a "broken mouse" on one of the schools new Imac, half the school is mac now. Come to find out she had the mouse in the wrong direction so when she pushed up it went down, etc. She had no idea, I lmao then "fixed" the mouse. I did ocasionally get some real work, fixing the schools Linux server and a few other things but mostly stupid teachers claiming it was broken or maintence and upgrading on the computers.

As for the Wal-Mart job, its pays decent, 6.83 on mon-sat and 7.83 on sundays. And with gas 1.45 for premium down here its great.

For premium unleaded in Australia it is about $1.03 per litre Australian, with an exchange rate to the US of 1 Ausrtalian dollar buying 50 us cents, it works out at $2.25 US a gallon. And you think you have it bad!

Ooh, I know that story. I worked for a school system over the summer. But I worked on MACS! They're made for idiots! And people still couldn't figure out things.

PS: When we worked on them we had to specifically ask the custodians NOT to unplug them from the wall, explaining that that's a *bad* thing to do.

Uhhh....What purpose does this poll hold to the TI Community?? You can make the stretch that jobs allow you to buy calculators, but IMHO I think that's a bit of a stretch. Meh...

To all of you who are yet really kids(under 18 crowd), think about it. What you are learning to with your calculators, just for fun. Can be a key in some great jobs.

Liking what one does for a living is as important, if not more important than the money, in one's life's occupation.

I still use my TI-99/4A, and just got an emulator for it to run on a PC, PC99, has full licence from TI for the ROMs! The full version is about $98. And the Cyc another $30 with $100 of dollars worth of fully licenced TI ROMs for the 4A PC99 emulation-- If you were to obtained the licenced TI programs individually at a $1 apiece. Also other third party stuff. There are other third party emulators, but with them one has to get the ROM's the same way one must for the TI calculators here. Copyrights.

I still use my two TI-85 at work. I also use the TI-86, which holds the programs of the two 85's with room left of one more 85. Some math programs written on the TI-99/4A were translated for the TI-85 as well as programs written on the TANDY model 100. The TANDY 100 only hand 24K. My one TI-85 replaced the use of my TANDY 100 at work. Some of the programs were simply rewritten from scratch.

Very well put. I spent a good deal of time programming TI calculators, and the skills I learned as a result have been very beneficial to me for my paying job.

Oh yeah, don't have a job, but need to get one.
