I spray painted my 83+ red. Had to take it a part so I wouldn't paint the keys. Whenever I drop it ther is a black mark. Had to repaint it got so bad

Wouldn't some lacquer over your paint or special plastic-paint work better and not let the paint scrape off?

Yeah… now that I think about it, we spraypainted some plastic chairs at my house, and even the bottoms of the legs still have the paint (they are outside on concrete, and we just drag them around to transport them; i.e. they aren't scraped up when you'd think they would be).

my 83+ screwed up after i had mirageOS on it for a while and it only works IF i drop it, but it still works screwy... (random screen shifts, text display, and ram clears). I blame mirageOS!

I don't think MirageOS would do that - it sounds like you need to find more stable programs or resend the OS.

One time I dropped my TI-89 so hard that the lcd "leaked" on a corner. However, I dropped it again (because of that damn cover) and that fixed the screen. True story.

I was getting out of a vehicle, and it was about a 4 foot drop. It fell out of my pocket, and hit the concrete pretty hard. A picked it up, and pressed on. There was a blinking cursor. It lived!
