I wasn't fooled by this. I got home from school and thought, hey it's april fools day, I'll go see the jokes everyone put up. So I went around looking for jokes, which included coming here, where, by the time I figured out what it even meant, I knew that the article was the joke. Anyways, then I went to maxcoderz. For some reason, it didn't even occur to me that maxcoderz would even have a joke. I was just going there for my usual routine, which is: go to main page, go to metroid project from link in sidebar, look for new screen, get disappointed again, click forum link, look for new posts, get disappointed, close the tab. Anyways, I went to the main page, and didnt even look at the news, just right to the sidebar, were I didnt see metroid. I thought "That's wierd, maybe everyone else just updated, I'll go the 'Projects' page". There was nothing there (note that at this point april fools just hadnt occured at all on maxcoderz). So I sent Joe an IM that said "Hey Joe". No response, so I thought, "maybe joe finished it, and it's in the games section now", but no, it wasnt there. I thought, hmm, that's wierd. So then, still no response from Joe, I go to the main page and finally see the article. I almost screamed.

I think a good april fools joke would be to take a project like metroid, or other highly anticipated game, and announce it's completion, along with screenshots and a link to download it, whereupon you get a server error that the bandwidth has been exceeded or something. Maybe even better would be to announce something like, "[insert name here] has just informed us of the completion of his secret project hes been working on for the past year and a half, Grand Theft Auto [or other very complex popular game]. You can download it here." Then post screenshots taken from real gta (3, VC, or SA) that have been posterized and resized, but would still look absolutely incredible. Just an idea I had earlier today...

What do I vote if I actually thought it was a good idea? :-)

That would be in the previous (now closed) poll. :-\

I still say they needed a "Too bad this is an April Fool's Joke" option on that last one. ;-)
