I always thought girls would make great assembly programmers because longer nails would help when taking out the batteries...

Only in the old days. Now, I would hope most if not all programmers use emulators to do their dirty work.

Yeah, pulling out batteries got old incredibly fast. Before VTI, I was seriously considering opening up my calc and installing a "reset" button. That would have been handy =)

These days, I don't even have a choice since I ruined the link port of my calculator by re-installing software hundreds of times over back in the "old days".

That's sad really...

1% female. That's amazing, especially since it's mostly girls who have calcs at my school.

Hey, good point. I know of two people who actuall own a TI-92, and one's a girl. Most of the people who have their own calculators in my Pre-Calc class are girls as well (not counting myself).
BTW, where was the option for "Not Sure"? I mean what if you're seriously not sure, and you don't know what to look for to find out? There was no option for these people...

At my school, the ratio of guys to girls that own TI calculators is about 50-50, but the ratio of guys that know how to use them and girls that know how to use them (beyond simple math) is extremely different, probably only about 80-20. And if you axe out everybody who's not in calculus, there's---1. One girl who knows how to use her calc. (And all the calc girls were taught by our calculus teacher, before that class they didn't know either).

And girls aren't spending a lot of their time on calculator sites either. Guys do that and then the chicks just bum the games off us.

I just find it funny that the chicks get them taken up more often. Guys are either a lot better at being discreet, or (more likely) the teachers watch the girls a LOT more. One girl had her TI-83+ taken up for the remainder of the semester. Now THAT was funny.

In my class the ratio is 100-0; male-to-female (unless you count those TI-30X scientific calculators that don't graph) - the survey is pretty accurate according to my class. Judging from the poll, however the 66-33 ratio of people who know how to use their calc to people who don't is pretty high. (3 total, 3 male, 2 knowlegdable, 1 unknowledgeble)

And it's only 1% because of rounding.

98.9% Male.

Wow.

Doesn't that make us feel better now?

I have only one more thing to say:

I have seen some pointless surveys before, but this takes the cake!

Personally, I think a "how many replies do you think we can get?" poll would be even more pointless!

Hmmm....."shd2eioy47!!!!!!" or "%%76yo7fdhausiohda.....", that's pretty hard to decide. I think that I'll choose (C) %%76yo7fdhausiohda.....

Good choice. Y'know what they say, when you're not sure which one to pick go with C. It's always the best answer. You'll have a better chance getting it right on a test that way.
In fact, my Physics teacher once gave a multiple choice test where EVERY SINGLE ANSWER WAS "C". It drove the class insane.

Then there's those all true-false tests with hords of dates one dosen't remember, with small details causing massive overthinking, and later, panic.

I heard about the "guess c" theory from my phisics/chemistry teacher at high school.

Well, actually prefer the other way around, in that case, I won't need to worry about not being able to find a girl friend on the same field.
