Once in a while that site timed out when I went to it, leading only to a "Page Cannot Be Displayed" error

I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but those little white, red, green,or blue icons that are in front of the filenames on the main page won't load for me.
Also the red stat bars on the survey page won't load either. I have to hit "show picture" almost every time.
*complain complain* : )

That sounds like an IE problem if the icons show up after you pick "show picture". I've had many problems with IE similar to that.

I have said this once, and I'll say it again (modified for the newest version): GET FIREFOX, OR MOZILLA, OR OPERA, OR SAFARI!!!

Sorry about that, but IE truely does suck.

I totally agree, except for ONE thing...there's a java applet I downloaded that refuses to work on IE but works on...dare I say it?...Netscape...*Checks to see if the world has ended* ok...everythings still here...

Really? Scary. What is it- and what version of IE were you using?

Not sure what the number is, but I was using the newest version at home and an older version at school....wouldn't open either way. The name of the program is "Graphing Calculator" and it was required for my Math Class. Also, I just found out that none of my java programs that I wrote work if I make them in html files and open them with IE. Haven't tried them on netscape though so, who knows? maybe I'm missing a Java file that's necessary to open the applets, but there are some on the internet that DID open...hmmm....

Ooh- I have this problem, but I don't think it's just IE. That's why I HATE programming applets for Java. It's so irritating. You completely have to exit out of the browser and re-open the browser again to reload the Java applet. If another window of IE is still running, then it still won't refresh the applet. Big pain. Is this what you're talking about?

I don't think so...I never tried closing and opening the browser. I use AppletViewer now so I don't really care that IE does that anymore :) I just got Netscape for my home computer, so I'm gonna try to see if it works with this...

Yep, it works on netscape...I must not have a java plugin for IE or something...

Netscape does have some problems, but IE is still worse.

Actually, I *DO* use Mozilla now. Only when I'm troubleshooting it for someone else (or when I use programs like Juno) do I use IE anymore.

It seems like any time I use IE I get bombarded with adware and spyware. I'm not kidding!

Opera was updated a few days ago (link), with some new features, including the ability to expand the sidebar to full screen, better IRC, and a load of other stuff. There's a Linux version too!

Oh, and a while back, when the links at the top were "updated", they started doing weird stuff in Opera with the highlighting.

I like FireFox better, it's mainly Opera without the ads.

This is as good of spot as any to mention that you may now delete any pending files you may have through the "Manage Author Information" feature.

Are you trying to hold off uploading files as long as possible? Some of us are suffering, like Memwaster here ;) j/k. Actually, I'm busy with the pong competition, so I hardly notice.

Just for the hell of it, I think I'll make one (for myself). I want to see if I can beat 300 bytes. ;-)

It would be nice if you can delete files that are already in the archives though. The operations list is there, just no buttons.

Just e-mail filearchive@ticalc.org. You will have to prove that you the author of the files you want to delete. The problem with having that option is that someone just might figure out the oassword to someone else's account and go delete happy.

Just put a nice request that one of your files be removed in the "file archiver comments" box the next time you upload a file. That's what I did when I wanted to remove some of my stupid BASIC programs I wrote within a month after I got my calc.

Other than that, what "author information" can be managed there? It just doesnt seem to do much, not that a page with all of your files isnt useful, but to me it doesnt seem to live up to its description, which is fine, but i wonder if maybe im missing something there...(wow, that seems to be a run-on sentence)
