Well, I never played SimCity, but I used to play SimTower quite a bit... (different creator, same publisher)

It's a very simple game... I got pretty good at it without much time.

I could never get my population above 16000, though

Wow, now i don't know what the "original" sim city is. I thought it was the one for PC, but i've never heard of an atari version or a Nintendo version. Or are they just the same thing?

Um, I think SimCity originally came out for the PC (SimCity Classic), but I could be wrong.

Does not really matter. There were so many platforms out there in that time the game would have been released for all of them at about the same time. But it was probabley the PC.

No, you're all wrong. The very FIRST SimCity was for the Apple II series of computers (this was before the Macintosh and Power Macintosh).

I have it on my Apple IIe, I'll take a picture of me playing it if you want to see a "screenshot". If I take a picture, it'll be on my website, URL of which linked to above.

Well, I didn't find it on your site, so you must not have put it up yet.

Sorry, I can't find either of two things.... my floppy drive cable for the appleII or my monitor cable... the whole machine has been in my closet for the past couple months, and I wouldn't be suprised if I threw out those cables after finding them under my computer desk or something. I searched on google for "Simcity Apple II" to find disk images for an emulator, but found nothing.

In that case, I haven't played the original, I guess. I thought it was the PC version they meant...

The PC version is just a straight port from the mac - so I would say that it would count as the original in this poll.

I never played any Sim games. The closest I ever got to a Sim was RollerCoaster Tycoon, which I played at someone else's house.

What's wrong with that? Some people (including me) just don't play many computer games. ;-)

I own simcity 2k and 3k, and have played the old mac version of the original. Simcity 4 sucks horribly.

Not meaning to be rude...where have you been? Have you just recently come back to ticalc.org? When they did the recent server upgrade, they shortened the posting time.

Allthough I regularly visit ticalc.org, I haven't posted anything for approximately 2 weeks, and regularly a post is the last thing I do before going to another site, so I probably didn't realize what was happening.
