Starting Sim City:

This is the screen when you start Sim City 1999. If you want to start the game press F1. Also if you want to return to an old game press F1, because the state of a game is automatically saved when you exit Sim City.
If you press F2, a complete new game with a random map will be created. There is no return to an old game when you press F2 yet.
F3 shows the status of the actual game, like population, money, building and so on.
F4 exits Sim City 1999. Wouldn't guess it?

Movement:

This picture shows you in different steps how to navigate in Sim City 1999.
In the pink line, you can see the main menu. There are 8 small sprites and a big one. Only the 8 small are interactive. It's mapped as F1-F8, so they are easy to use.
To move around in the playfield, just use the cursor pad of your TI92(plus). In the blue line you can see an inverted sprite, this shows you where you are.
The yellow line surrounds two large bars, a horizontal and a vertical. In these bars (green line) are two little bars which are scrolling with the playfield so you can see where your position on the full map is.

Different Zones:

To get into this menu you have to press F1, at the main menu. In this menu the game is running every time.
The I stands for industrial zone. If you press F1 an industrial zone will be created on the actual cursor position.
The C stands for commercial zone and the R for residential zone.
If you press ESC you will return to the main menu.

Power Plants:

To get into the power menu, press F2 at the main menu.
The first sprite stand for a nuklear power plant, which costs 4000$.
The second stands for wind energy, which is more loved by the people but not so powerful. It costs 400$
More power plant will come as soon as possible.

Services:

To get into the service menu simply press F3 at the main menu.
The first sprite stands for a fire station, the second stands for a police station and the third for a hospital. All these services cost 500$.
The last stands for a park and costs 200$.

Playing Sim City:

At the beginning of a new game you need three things.
A power plant, the three zones and some roads.
If these three things where builded your city will begin to grow up.
You have a little bit of time before the people begin to demand everything. You should well calculate your money in the first years, because it could end earlier as you want.
After that you should began to build sevices and water supplies, because people dont't like to be thirsty. And alsways build roads but not too much.
Later in the game a seaport will be required. How big the seaport has to be, demands on the population.
After that comes the airport, which is specially needed by commercial and industrial, and demands also on the population.
If you started with a nuklear power plant, maybe people will start to demand it. If this happens, you have to demolish the nuklear power plant(s) and build other power plants..

The budget:

The budget always starts up at the end of a year. Here you can see how much you have to pay or how much you earned.
To change the rate of anything first press C on your calc, then select the line you want to change, press ENTER and then change the rate with +/-. After you got the new rate press ENTER again. The new rate will be used for the next years but not for the past.

To change the speed press S on your calc. Then you select the speed with + and -. After that press ENTER.
