TIM_2 README

before i get started with the readme, there are a couple things i would like to point out. This readme was written to be compatible with all web browsers, but if yours cannot read it, then visit my forums at alex10819.tk. Also, this readme contains pictures which may appear as small red "X"'s on your screen. if so, unzip the files, then open it from the unzipped folder. the images will then appear as they should.
On another note, Alex10819 Productions is always looking for programmers to stop by and help. If you arent good at programming, come by anyway, we would love to help you out! Invite some friends!
What is TIM?
TIM_2 is a remake of my original TIM83 and TIM84.
Compatibility with TIM83/TIM84 and whats new
TIM2 is NOT compatible with TIM83 or TIM84, but will, unlike TIM84, run on either the 83+ or 84+. it is faster, better looking, and takes up less memory (the original TIM84 took up 13k, with pictures. this one takes up less than 4k total, with only 1 picture.
The author would like to say
TIM_2 contains most of the useful features of TIM84, minus a few of the useless commands. it is easier to use, and is LIVE. while it is still obvious it was written in BASIC, there are far fewer issues with it freezing (apparently, the 83+ version didnt like TIM very much... i dunno...)
TIM returns, and is cooler than ever!
1.TIM_2 has a sort of GUI, enabling it to stay live without waiting for you to input a command or message (live messaging doesnt function while you are typing)
2. TIM_2 completely eliminates TIM83/84's dependance on the Get( command, which gives you an extra 30 seconds of messenging time per minute over the old version. That may not sound like much, but this way there are no irritating waits everytime the screen is refreshed.
3. TIM_2 is Mirage compatible, unlike earlier versions.
4. TIM_2 doesn't require Omnicalc, and comes with an ASM utility to add even more functionality. (this will be even more evident in the Special Edition)
5. TIM_2 can be customized with special Modules that will be available soon.
The Main Interface

The Main interface consists of four buttons, the last message from each person, and an area between the two, where system messages will appear.
Sending/Receiving messages, and using commands
To enter a command or message, press F1 while at the Main Screen. (if it doesn't respond, try again. sometimes it is busy updating text, and will take a couple keypresses to get the idea). The program will prompt you for a message, and you can input what you want to say. however, certain characters cannot be used in a message. these characters are: "+,*, and /", because they are the prefixes you enter before using a command (this is the same system used in the previous versions of TIM). After you have entered a message or command, press enter. if your message is too long, you will receive an error message and the message will not be sent. if you have entered a command, you may or may not be prompted for a password, depending on what type of command it is. if you entered a valid message, or your message was too long, you will be sent back to the main screen. other wise, you will have entered one of the following commands:
*friendnick Prompts you for a password, and then allows you to change your friends username.
*Forcespeak Prompts for a password, and then allows you to "put words in your friends mouth"
*System Prompts for a password, then allows you to send a system message that will appear on your friends calc and yours. also pauses to make sure they read it.
+ding the only current Mod command, this command prompts for a password, then sends a Easteregg system message to both users
All commands below this point do not require a password
/Menu Opens up a menu. in this release, the menu only lets you logout and exit
/Logout Lets you change your Username
/exit Exits the program, sends you back to the TI-OS's home screen.
if you enter any commands not listed here, they will return an "invalid Command" error.
Admins and Mods
Certain people will have been gifted with an Admin password, or will have found it on my forums. There are two valid Passwords, and one can be changed easily, but only from outside the program (this will be changed soon). Refer to my forums for help on doing this.
All Admins will be marked by a "(!)" before and after their name, and the word Admin in their Username. Since i wouldn't want anyone messing around with people, pretending to be an Admin, i disabled "(" and "!" in usernames. if you enter these characters, you will be given an error message and asked to enter a new username. If you are chatting with a friend, and his username is "(!)Admin Willy(!)", you can safely assume he is an Admin. Admins don't have to be logged in to use their powers though, so watch out who you are talking to, you dont want to offend an Admin
Moderators
Moderators are also present in TIM_2, but their powers are currently somewhat diminished. (in fact, all the Mod Password does is let you use an Easteregg). There will be more features coming out soon.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Coming Soon to TIM_2
1. More Admin and Mod functions
2. User requests. if you ask for it on my forums, you might find it in the next version i release!
3. More effecient Main Screen.
4. Message history.
5. Encryption (probably involving lists, havent decided yet)
