Hmm.. The Reply link was broken, so it took me some time to post this stuff, but I finally did! Needless to say this is the first post because others haven't found out how to post about this topic yet. Ticalc, please fix it.
Okay, to the point. At the moment I write this only males have voted and I don't expect too many women to vote (I don't mean to offend anyone). So this is not such a good survey I think. But maybe I'm wrong, maybe we'll see some surpising results or a cool discussion. I'll just wait and see.

First post. Why? The reply link is still broken. I've figured out how to post here, but others haven't. I tried to post before but failed mysteriously.

No woman has voted yet and I don't think many are going to (no offense intended). This survey really won't tell us anything new. I'd rather have more calc related surveys, and more relevant surveys.

So it did appear! Well, as you can see there were several hours between my two posts so I thought something had gone wrong (duh, three hours should be enough) but still I'm glad it's all fixed now. I'm also glad that at least some females voted here because I was very afraid that no woman would vote at all. Thank Q that didn't happen.

There are actually girls who use this site!!? I'm surprised. I would have thought that girls have lives.

Just because a girl is interested in something that primarily guys are doesn't mean she doesn't have a life. Plenty of people (mark this, people includes male and female) enjoy technology (more specifically, programming) and have a "life." I believe there was a debate on what have a "life" was about one month ago, so I don't think it needs to come up again. But, many programmers and calc-likers participate in school sports, church activities, bands, attend parties, "chill," etc.

so people who participate in mosque, synogouge, temple, whatever religious activities, except church don't have a life.

In other words, be PC and use "religious/athiest activites" :)

Umm...I don't see where you got all that stuff from. If you will notice, "church" wasn't the only thing I refered to. So, if you want to be nit-picky, "be PC" and nit-pick about:

bands: some people aren't in bands, rather "musical groups"

sports: some people can't play sports (you are picking on them by saying so!), rather "sports/healthy-and-exciting"

parties: some people aren't popular and you have to cover all aspects [when PC], rather "social gatherings/events"

Look, you trapped yourself and simply asked for it.

well...
usaar33  Account Info

I did, beacuse the other ones weren't so much excluding other groups and actually applied. a healthy-and exciting activity pretty much is a sport (find one that isn't), musical groups is close enough to a band, and even if someone isn't popular, there bound to go to a party. Church activites excludes many people (including myself), which is why I put it.

I agree, a am 13 years old, and an avid programmer, as well as a good athlete. I love to hang out with my friends and go to parties. I'm know in school as "Scientist" and also known for being very smart. I think that people that enjoy programming, or just calcs. in general can still be more than just "Computer Geeks"(pardon the expression). I think that a person's own desicion makes them a comp geek and that if they want to just sit around all day and twiddle their thumbs and play computer games thats fine, but it is their own choice.

5 Hours (Only?)
KB0LZU
(Web Page)

As is obvious, there are many people who think that 5 hours is a lot, but for me, I spend my day at school programming my 86 in assember, (Yes, I don't have ANY life, but hay, machine language is is challenging and Challenging is better than my classes), and come home and program my 86 using ASM Studio. But I think that intelluctual, (and not :-) ) activity is not a male only realm. So I'm happy to know that you spend time dealving into such a neat platform, so as a guy, it's proof that equal oppertunity is not just talk.
